Senator Aaron Bean began politics as Mayor of Fernandina Beach from 1996-1999. In 2000, he ran for the newly vacated seat in Florida’s 12th House of Representative district. He won his seat and served until 2008 winning re-election with no opponents in 2004 and 2006 and was termed out in 2008. New districts in 2012, the 4th Senate district was redrawn and he won that seat. Sen. Aaron bean is known as the “go to health care guy” for his extensive work in that area during his time in the House.
